For nature lovers, this program will make you immersed in the lush rainforest to live a wonderful experience. Continuing the journey, visit the city of Cusco walk through its streets and its nearby ruins and at the end visit the enigmatic citadel and wonder of the World, Machu Picchu in scenic train journey where you will enjoy his absolute and splendid beauty.

  • Day 1 Lima
    • Overnight at selected hotel at Lima.
  • Day 2 Lima - City tour
    • Our guided visit to Lima allows you to see the Historical Center: Main Square, the Government Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, the City Hall and old streets with colonial mansions and Moorish balconies. You will also visit the historic Santo Domingo Convent , an icon of colonial architecture. The tour goes all the way to modern district of San Isidro and Miraflores, where you’ll appreciate archaeological sites of sacred Inca structures and also, you will observe the Pacific Ocean coast from the vast seafront.

  • Day 3 Lima – Cusco - Sacred Valley
    • CHINCHERO MARKET TOUR
    • Located 35 kilometers (22 miles) Northwest of Cusco, the town of Chinchero is located over the foundations of an important Incan center from late 1400. Colofully dressed, the people of Chinchero gather in the main square to exchange food, and offer the visitors with a series of regional handicrafts surrounded by a stunningly beautiful landscape.

  • Day 4 Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu
    • Half day visit to Ollantaytambo, a military, religious and agricultural center of the Incan Empire. The fortress is located on top of a mountain to allowed them to protect the whole valley from invaders. From the highest spot you will be able to appreciate the narrow roads along with the channels that remain unaltered since Incan times.
    • Transfer to Ollantaytambo train station to take the ride to Machu Picchu town.
    • Overnight at selected hotel at Machu Picchu.

  • Day 5 Machu Picchu - Cusco
    • Today you will start your Machu Picchu excursion with a private guide. This incredible place is a renowned example of the advanced Inca’s architecture, surrounded by an amazing landscape of lush forest. Lost in history, Machu Picchu was not discovered until 1911 by the American explorer Hiram Bingham, but was built in the middle of XV century. The name of the citadel comes from the Quechua language that means “Old Mountain” and apparently was the principal Inca’s Sanctuary. Enjoy a buffet lunch at Sanctuary lodge.
    • At the appointed time, you will return to the station to take your train ride back to Cusco.
    • Transfer from the train station to the hotel in Cusco.

  • Day 6 Cusco - City tour
    • Get to know the city of Cusco, an UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site and possessor of a style on its own. The tour begins at the Koricancha Temple, an old Incan palace and main center for the worship of the sun god, Inti. Once the Spanish conquered Peru, the Dominican order built a lovely church over top this temple’s foundations: the church of Santo Domingo that is still there today. Your next destination is the Main Square, and then the adventure continues at the Sacsayhuaman Fortress built of enormous stone blocks expertly shaped by the Incas. It is strategically located at the top of a hill overlooking Cusco. What a view of the city! The tour continues with visits to three archeological sites: “Qenko, Puca-Pucara, and Tambomachay”, important religious and administrative centers for the Incas. Finally you will visit an art workshop named “Inkas Expression” that presents artists working on silver pieces and painting in wood. This is an ideal place for the ones who like andean art.

  • Day 7 Cusco – Puerto Maldonado lodge
    • Start your journey navigating by outboard motorized canoe along the Madre de Dios River to Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion for approximately 25 minutes. Enjoy lunch with organic ingredients and native flavors. After lunch, take a walk through Concepción trails, inside property nature trails, where you will discover and learn about primary and secondary rainforest, its components, uses, transformations by the human being, and its relevance for the world. At dusk navigate by outboard motorized canoe, at the twilight river excursion. By sailing on the Madre de Dios River, you will learn about its ecosystem, Amazonian creeks, nocturnal animals’ behavior, and the southern constellations. In the evening enjoy a nice dinner in the Casa Grande’s dining room.

  • Day 8 Puerto Maldonado lodge
    • HACIENDA CONCEPCIÓN:
    • New experiences are ahead and after taking a nutritious buffet breakfast, get ready for a long trek through terra firma into the Tambopata National Reserve towards lake Sandoval. Here you will understand why Madre de Dios is called the biodiversity capital of Peru, while learning about the Reserve’s conservation efforts and the lake’s formation. Navigate by dugout canoe across this mirror-like oxbow lake that is home to the endangered giant river otter (Pteronura brasiliensis), blue and yellow macaw (Ara ararauna), red howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus), black caiman (Melanosuchus niger), and one of the world’s biggest fresh water scaled fish, the paiche (Arapaima gigas
    • Back to the lodge for lunch, and later the canopy walkway & Anaconda walk await for you. Take a 20-minute ride by outboard motorized canoe to the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway Interpretation Center where you will learn about its construction and the conservation projects of ITA-Inkaterra Asociación (NGO). Ascend one of the two 98-foot towers (30 m.) and cross the 7 hanging bridges that connect the treetops at 91 ft. high (28 m.). Enjoy the breathtaking vistas and get the chance to watch white-throated toucans (Ramphastos tucanus), woodpeckers, trogons, squirrel monkeys (Saimiri boliviensis) and the three-toed sloth (Choleopus hoffmani). After descending keep on feeling the incredible primary rainforest energy going along the 200-meter wooden bridge over the swamps (aguajales). You will learn about the fauna and flora of this flooded ecosystem.
    • At night get ready for an adventure at the hidden rainforest excursion, where you will explore the Amazon rainforest that gives way to nocturnal animals who display intriguing behavior patterns, and enhanced senses as adaptation mechanisms. Listen to nocturnal living nature sounds, and penetrate this hidden world. Return to the lodge and enjoy a nice dinner.

    • Included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Day 9 Puerto Maldonado lodge
    • The sun rises once again and after an early breakfast you will take the native farm excursion where you will be able to learn local techniques of cultivation and taste some of the products during the visit. Then visit the Botanical garden, discover the immense variety of medicinal plants considered part of the “natural pharmacy” used by the habitants at the amazon region. Compare the medicinal uses of local medicine with traditional remedies. Getting back to the lodge you will have lunch. Take a rest and get ready for the Cocha water excursion. Enjoy a dugout canoe ride on the lodge’s natural pond (cocha). Try native fishing applying the “catch and release” techniques, as you enjoy the scenery observing hoatzins (Opisthocomus hoazin), a diversity of fly catchers, and gray-necked woodrails (Aramides cajanea).
    • Disembark at the remains of Fitzcarrald steam boat; learn about its history. You will be able to participate in the Inland collpa during the evening, where you will see different species and their night routines by observing through our “blinds”. End up your day with a pleasant dinner.
    • Overnight at Hacienda Concepcion at Puerto Maldonado.
    • Included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Day 10 Puerto Maldonado lodge - Lima
    • After buffet breakfast, you will take the ride back to Puerto Maldonado by outboard motorized canoe. Arrive at the airport for your flight back to Lima
    • Upon your arrival, reception at the airport and transfer to your hotel.
    • Overnight at selected hotel at Lima.

  • Day 11 Lima
    • Transfer to the airport for your international flight back home.

Your excursion today includes a tour of the site to see long stone canals built by the Incans, representing the height of their hydraulic engineering skill. The main fountain spreads a jet of water that reaches a height of 80 meters. We recommend walking through "The Tunnel of Surprises" about 35 meters long, go through the "The Children Fountain" that has an irresistible water system to play and the "Daydream Labyrinth" fountain which has walls of water with different effects.
