San Blas is the Cusco's most picturesque city district, known as the district of craftsmen, for there live the city's most famous artist. Its steep, narrow streets are lined with charming Colonial buildings that have been recently restored.The San Blas church principal wealth, built in 1563, consists of its important collection of paintings, its splendid Baroque altar and, in particular, its famous Baroque pulpit, carved from a single piece of cedar and considered the finest example of Colonial carving in America.
