Peru with potential to double the million tourists
The Minister of Tourism, Mr. Alfredo Ferrero mentioned yesterday, that Peru has the potential to double the amount of 1 million tourists we are receiving now. Mr. Ferrero indicated that during 2004, the growth of incoming tourists will be around 19%. During his speech celebrating the world day of tourism, the Minister explained the promotion policies which are being implemented by Prom Peru.

Investment of US$ 100,000 to preserve Villa Marshes
In order to prevent the destruction of Villa Marshes, one of the most important ecological reserves in Lima, City Hall will invest around $100,000 in conservation works. The funds will be disbursed by the "Fondo de las Americas" (The Americas Fund in Peru).

Pre-Incan artifact among 28,000 artworks recovered in Italy
Italy is to formally hand over to Peru next week a millennium-old artifact recovered by specialist art police here after it had been stolen in southern Peru, officials said. A photograph of the copper and gold funerary mask dating from the pre-Inca Sican period was exhibited along with around 100 other artworks recovered by specialized culture ministry police in Rome.

Air Canada presented its non stop flight to Lima
Air Canada presented its new flight non stop Toronto-Lima, starting November 2nd. This presentation was attended by Ms. Geneviève Des Rivières, Canadian Ambassador in Peru, Mr. Alex Pitman , Air Canada's Manager in Peru, Mr. Carlos Zamorano, Prom Peru's General Manager among other personalities.
