Schedule by Day

• Day 1 Lima
  • Upon your arrival, reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
  • Overnight at selected hotel at Lima.
• Day 2 Lima - Cusco
  • Transfer to Lima airport to take the flight to Cusco city.
  • Transfer to the hotel.
  • Afternoon City Tour:
  • Visit the city declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. The tour will start at the temple of Koricancha, an ancient Inca palace where the order of the Dominicans built an incredible church that can still be seen there. Then visit the Main Square, where the Cathedral and the beautiful Church of the Society of Jesus, among other colonial buildings, are located. Continue to the San Cristóbal colonial chruch to enjoy a spectacular view of the city. Afterwards you will go on to the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, an Inca building known for its massive walls of hewn stone, also Qenko and Puca Pucara archaeological complexes.

• Day 3 Sacred Valley
  • Half day visit to Ollantaytambo, a military, religious and agricultural center of the Incan Empire. The fortress is located on top of a mountain to allow them to protect the whole valley from invaders. From the highest spot you will be able to appreciate the narrow roads along with the channels that remain unaltered since Incan times.
  • Overnight at selected hotel at Sacred Valley.
  • Breakfast and lunch.
• Day 4 Machu Picchu
  • Transfer from the hotel to the train station to take the train to Machu Picchu. You will arrive to station in Machu Picchu town, and then you will be transported by bus to Machu Picchu citadel, one of the most renowned examples of the Inca’s architecture, surrounded by an amazing landscape of lush forest. Lost in history, Machu Picchu was not discovered until 1911 by the American explorer Hiram Bingham, but was built in the middle of XV century. At the appointed time, you will return to the station to take your train ride back to the Sacred Valley. From there transfer to Cusco city and to the selected hotel.

• Day 5 Cusco – Lima - Iquitos
  • Departure time of your flight to Lima to catch the flight to Iquitos city.
  • Overnight at selected hotel at Iquitos.
  • Included: Breakfast.
• Day 6 Amazon
  • Speed boats will be waiting for you, ready to travel three hours upriver on the Amazon. Staff will be ready to welcome you with a typical and cold drink after arriving at the lodge. Boat trip to Lake Sapote watching different birds, like parrots, jacanas, kingfishers, herons, panguanas, partridges, pigeons, cormorants, horned screamers, horneros, and then move to the other end of the Moena lagoon to see sloths and monkeys, as the night monkeys, squirrel and dusky titi monkeys, etc.
  • In the evening, boat ride to see caimans, nocturnal birds and mammals.
  • Overnight at selected lodge at Iquitos.
  • Included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Day 7 Amazon
  • Leoncito hikewhere you appreciate the immense variety of flora around the area. At this walk you can taste the water that Uncaria tomentosa (cat's claw), some say it can cure cancer and AIDS. You will see the world's smallest monkey, the pigmy marmoset, and the squirrel and tamarin monkeys. If you're lucky, you'll see the howler monkey, whose deafening roar can be heard many miles away. Boat trip to the lakes Purura and Corriente and catch different kind of fish, including the famous piranha (being more difficult to fish in March, April and May). At night, you do a night walk in search of huge frogs, anaconda´s favorite food.
  • Overnight at selected lodge at Iquitos.
  • Included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Day 8 Amazon – Lima
  • Morning Bird Watching trip. It will be very easy to see parrots, macaws, toucans, egrets, hawks, ducks, etc. Later, depending on the river level, you will be taken by motorboat to the Amazon River or some of the lakes to experiment the most magical moment of your trip: to see and listen to the pink Amazon River dolphins playing around your boat. In the way back to the lodge, you will see the biggest aquatic plant in the world, the famous Victoria Regia. Then visit the Purura Lake where you will find different types of fish, like piranhas, silver hatched fish, etc. After lunch, your grateful experience in the jungle comes to an end; you will sail three hours back to Iquitos and be taken to the airport.
  • Flight to Lima city.
  • Arrival and board the connecting international flight back home.
