Schedule by Day

• Day 1 Lima
  • Upon your arrival, reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
  • Overnight at selected hotel at Lima.
• Day 2 Lima - Cusco
  • Transfer to Lima airport to take the flight to Cusco city.
  • Transfer to the hotel.
  • Afternoon City Tour:
  • Visit the city declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. The tour will start at the temple of Koricancha, an ancient Inca palace where the order of the Dominicans built an incredible church that can still be seen there. Then visit the Main Square, where the Cathedral and the beautiful Church of the Society of Jesus, among other colonial buildings, are located. Continue to the San Cristóbal colonial chruch to enjoy a spectacular view of the city. Afterwards you will go on to the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, an Inca building known for its massive walls of hewn stone, also Qenko and Puca Pucara archaeological complexes.

• Day 3 Sacred Valley
  • Half day visit to Ollantaytambo, a military, religious and agricultural center of the Incan Empire.
  • The fortress is located on top of a mountain to allow them to protect the whole valley from invaders. From the highest spot you will be able to appreciate the narrow roads along with the channels that remain unaltered since Incan times.
  • Overnight at selected hotel at Sacred Valley.
  • Breakfast and lunch.
• Day 4 Machu Picchu
  • Transfer from the hotel to the train station to take the train to Machu Picchu.
  • You will arrive to station in Machu Picchu town, and then you will be transported by bus to Machu Picchu citadel, one of the most renowned examples of the Inca’s architecture, surrounded by an amazing landscape of lush forest. Lost in history, Machu Picchu was not discovered until 1911 by the American explorer Hiram Bingham, but was built in the middle of XV century. At the appointed time, you will return to the station to take your train ride back to the Sacred Valley. From there transfer to Cusco city and to the selected hotel.

• Day 5 Cusco – Rainforest
  • Flight to Puerto Maldonado. Upon arrival navigate by outboard motorized canoe along the Madre de Dios River to Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción for approximately 25 minutes. transfer to Inka Terra Lodge. After lunch, take a walk through Concepcion Trails where you will discover and learn about primary and secondary rainforest. At dusk navigate by outboard motorized canoe, at the Twilight River excursion. During the sailing you will learn about its ecosystem, Amazonian creeks, nocturnal animals’ behavior, etc. In the evening enjoy a nice dinner.
  • Overnight at selected hotel at Puerto Maldonado.
  • Included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Day 6 Lake Sandoval, Canopy Walkway, Anaconda Hike
  • New experiences are ahead, get ready for a long towards Lake Sandoval. Here you will understand why this area is called “the biodiversity capital of Peru” while learning about the Reserve’s conservation efforts and the lake’s formation.
  • Later the Canopy Walkway & Anaconda Walk wait for you. Take a 20-minute ride by outboard motorized canoe to the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway Interpretation Center where you will learn about its construction and the conservation projects of ITA-Inkaterra Asociación. Ascend one of the two 98-foot towers and cross the 7 hanging bridges that connect the treetops at 91 ft. high. After descending keep on feeling the incredible primary rainforest energy going along the 200-meter wooden bridge over the swamps. You will learn about the fauna and flora of this flooded ecosystem.
  • At night get ready for an adventure during the Hidden Rainforest excursion, where you will explore the nocturnal animals who display intriguing behavior patterns, and enhanced senses as adaptation mechanisms.
  • Overnight at selected hotel at Puerto Maldonado.
  • Included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Day 7 Rainforest – Lima
  • Today you will take the ride back to Puerto Maldonado by outboard motorized canoe for the flight back home to Lima city.
  • Arrival and board the connecting international flight back home.
